PROJECTS
Experience that is right for you
Discover the most suitable standards and methodologies for your land with the help of our experts. Our collective experience and extensive knowledge in projects with Australian and international standards, will give you tailored options to optimise project outcomes and revenue.
We have experience in a variety of project methodologies
Selecting a project methodology that suits your land and implementing the agreed activities under either the ACCU Scheme or an international standard, can be challenging. That's where we come in – our team is here to provide the guidance and support you need to navigate this process.
Methodologies we work with
Our team possesses extensive experience across a diverse array of methodologies. While the following examples shed light on our competencies, they only scratch the surface of our capabilities.
Savanna Fire Management
Planning fire management to decrease emissions from late dry fires in northern Australia.
Biochar
Producing biochar (pyrolysis-produced charcoal) for agricultural purposes and non-soil applications.
Forestry
Managing plantation forests to sequester more carbon from the atmosphere.
Environmental planting
Planting or seeding native trees to grow forests.
Australian and International standards
ACCU Scheme - domestic Australian standard
At Gondwana Carbon we work with various standards and certifications. The main carbon scheme in Australia is the Australian Emission Reduction Fund (ERF) scheme, also known as the ACCU (Australian Carbon Credit Unit) scheme. We go hand in hand with you to guide you through the design and development of your project, including project registration, implementation, monitoring, reporting and overall management, to the issuance of carbon credits (ACCUs).
International standards
In addition to adhering to the domestic Australian standard, our team possesses substantial expertise in working with globally recognized standards like Verra and Gold Standard, ensuring adherence to rigorous benchmarks and fostering global credibility in our projects.
Method development
Our team has played a key role
in shaping methodologies
With significant experience in developing methodologies under international standards, our team has actively participated in industry groups and method development initiatives, including those facilitated by the DCCEEW. This involvement encompasses development of methodologies such as Savanna burning and Integrated Farm and Land Management (IFLM). The team also has experience developing natural capital or co-benefit methods under the Accounting for Nature standard.
Should you have a project that requires a customised approach beyond existing methodologies, we're here to help design, develop, and implement a new method.
A new method is coming for savanna fire management that will include a new source of carbon credits – woody biomass. Gondwana Carbon has been involved in the method development process and can help new or existing projects understand and prepare for the new method.
Gondwana Carbon has played an active part in the method co-development process and can help you explore this method.
Integrated Farm and Land Management (IFLM) method, previously known as the Integrated Farm Management method, introduces fresh opportunities for landowners, allowing the combination of different soil and vegetation sequestration activities into one convenient method. The IFLM also introduces new measurement and modelling techniques that can increase flexibility, allow higher carbon crediting, and reinforce confidence in project outcomes.
For both larger and smaller landholders, the ability to create and use project specific vegetation models and measurements rather than default carbon crediting can increase confidence in project outcomes and may allow higher crediting to occur.
The IFLM method is expected to be released in 2024.
